in my prestige amp and my kicker subwoofers!!!!!!?
I have kicker 12" VCR subs..... There're 800 watt max ..... I get a presitge 1000 watt amp mono block(PAB-1000 D).... First i could not afford but considered one of my subs so if i bought it i hooked it up to my amp and yes it worked fabulous!!! However purchase the second sub in and turn it on a similar and neither sub barly works..... It kept blowing the fuses within my amp and wire ... so i then go and acquire a new wiring kit.. i thought i had to little wire for the amp... i re wire the amp with 8 gauge wire... and it still will not work. I called a audio place and in addition they told me i had been overloading my amp....My subs are dual voice coils and are generally 4 ohm..... my amp is 500X2 ohm, 300x4 ohm . As we discussed i don't know much in any respect about wiring subs and please somebody send us a diagram to the best way to connect right and acquire the max power.... if now you may let me please do.. Exactly what sounds like took action now is wire the voice coils of both subs in parallel (+ to + and - to - ) and then wired both speakers in parallel. This could have produced a 1ohm load to the amp, which is not a well balanced load. Once you had one sub, you likely wired it in parallel which combined both voice coils to create a 2ohm load. This gave 500 watts towards the sub which has been good. | Author
